The Boy Trifecta, Fall 2011 Edition

I adore these little men.

Riley, fresh off the soccer field

Quinn, playing in the leaves

Sawyer, trying out Q's tricycle.

I wish I could freeze them in time right now. Riley is in that place where you can talk to him like an adult, but he's still got that child-like innocence. Quinn is simply hilarious right now. Every word that leaves his mouth makes me chuckle. And Sawyer - he's just pure sweetness, and is learning practically a word a day. I love hearing him try out all his new words!

Having a child several years older than his brothers has made me appreciate how short the time is when they're little. I look at Riley and it seems like he was Sawyer's size just a SECOND ago. It makes me appreciate all the little moments with these guys even more.

Being a mommy is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Can't they just stay little forever?  Sigh.

  1. I'm with you: I wish they could stay little forever. My daughter is 4 and my son turns 2 in a few weeks. I love watching the adventures Miss C. imagines for her paper bag puppets (she has an army of about 50 that she made) and Master W. just cracks me up with his little toddler antics. I love watching them grow, but there's a part of me that wishes they could stay little forever. :)

  2. I agree! I love watching my little man grow and learn but it is a little heartbreaking as to how fast. Just last night my husband turned to me and said look at our little boy instead of our baby *sigh*

  3. I feel your heartbreak. I wish the same every day. I love the ages of my kids right now, too. But then, around 8:30 p.m., I start to wish for them all to be 21, and out of my house, lol! Oh, for a little time to myself!!

  4. I wish I could have just one more. I'm not done smelling baby skin and hair. They do grow up too fast. It's weird to talk to people and say I have a nine year old. What the? How did THAT happen?

  5. Emily, I remember when your husband was Sawyer's age....I think it was a few weeks ago. Thanks for giving Grandma and Grandpa the opportunity to enjoy so many of the fleeting moments in the lives of your darling boys!
