Because I'm insane, and CLEARLY not busy enough, I've decided to jump on board with Hooked on Handmade's Square-a-Day in May project. I've been itching to make an afghan out of granny squares. This is my very first square. Notice that it's, well, not very, uh, SQUARE. I think I need one of those blocking boards to help even out these edges.
I've been sort of obsessed with Craftyminx's granny-a-day project, so I totally ripped off her color scheme. This square is made with I Love This Yarn in hot rose, sungold, and peacock.

Love it!! The colors look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI too love the colors!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure this is your first square?!? It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour talents are showing if this is your first square. It turned out great. Many of my squares are a bit whompous. Blocking does the trick.
ReplyDeleteClearly you are not the person I thought you were. Did you say square a DAY in May? That is ridunkulous. I know jealousy isn't very becoming but I so want to make a granny square thingy. Problem is I have no talent in that direction. Maybe if I sell one of the kids I will have some free time.
ReplyDeleteYour square is lovely! This was the square I've made so far that definitely had to be blocked. It was super ruffly at the edges. I keep putting off buying a real official blocking board and I use a big piece of craft foam instead. I still only do it for the squares that really need it like this one. :)
