Let's start with the good stuff, shall we?
I love these Mini Boden pants. LOVE. And have for two winters now, as they appeared in last year's catalog as well. So, I set out to knock them off.

I think they came out pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

Now, I knew going in that my pants would have an elastic waist, and thus have a slightly different look than the Boden pants, but all in all, I think the main design idea is intact.

For this pair, I used 8 wale corduroy from JoAnn's, which I got for $4.98/yard. The total cost of these pants was probably around $6.00 in materials - a $24.00 savings over the Boden version. That sound you hear? Yes, that is me patting myself on the back.

They were a hit with everybody! If anyone is interested in a tutorial for these, let me know!

Emily- I can't believe you SEW too! You are a rockstar! You need to teach me! Glad our boys are on the soccer team together again this year!
